Day 257 Readings
Torah: Ha'azinu, 4th Portion Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32:19-32:28
19 “The Lord saw this, and spurned them Because of the provocation by His sons and daughters.
20 Then He said, ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be;
For they are a perverse generation, Sons in whom there is no faithfulness.
21 They have made Me jealous with what is not God; They have provoked Me to anger with their [a]idols.
So I will make them jealous with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation,
22 For a fire has flared in My anger, And it burns to the lowest part of [b]Sheol,
And devours the earth with its yield, And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Deuteronomy 33:1-29
26 “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you,
And in His excellency on the clouds.
27 The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms;
He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, ‘Destroy!’
28 Then Israel shall dwell in safety, The fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine;
His heavens shall also drop dew.
29 Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord,
The shield of your help And the sword of your majesty!
Your enemies shall submit to you, And you shall tread down their [c]high places.”
Matthew 16:5-12
8 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you [b]have brought no bread? 9 Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up?
Mark 8:22-30
29 And He continued questioning them: “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and *said to Him, “You are the [c]Christ.” 30 And He [d]warned them to tell no one about Him.

Root Of Injustice
Many injustices are happening in our world today. It is not just in under-developed countries, but also in well-developed countries. It is not because of the lack of education or lack of democracies. It is because our sinful nature; pride, greed, lust, passion, bitterness in people. It cannot be changed or eliminated through a good education or self meditation or different kinds of philosophies. Only Jesus can and he did it. His first coming was to heal our hearts. His second coming will throw all to the lake of fire.
Prayer: Jesus Lord, continue to sanctify our hearts where we are not pleasing You. Help me to fight the good fight, finish well, and do right in Your eyes. Amen
Scripture
Isaiah 15
Isaiah 16
13 This is the word which the Lord has spoken concerning Moab since that time. 14 But now the Lord has spoken, saying, “Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the glory of Moab will be despised with all that great multitude, and the remnant will be very small and feeble.”
Isaiah 17
The pronouncement concerning Damascus:
“Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a cityAnd will become a fallen ruin.2 The cities [t]of Aroer are abandoned;They will be for herds [u]to lie down in,And there will be no one to frighten them.3 The [v]fortified city will disappear from Ephraim,And [w]sovereignty from DamascusAnd the remnant of Aram;They will be like the glory of the sons of Israel,”Declares the Lord of armies.
Isaiah 18
1 Woe to the land shadowed with buzzing wings, Which is beyond the rivers of [s]Ethiopia,
2 Which sends ambassadors by sea, Even in vessels of reed on the waters, saying,
“Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth of skin, To a people terrible from their beginning onward,
A nation powerful and treading down, Whose land the rivers divide.”
Galatians 1
3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
18 Then three years later I went up to Jerusalem to [j]become acquainted with [k]Cephas, and stayed with him for fifteen days. 19 But I did not see another one of the apostles except [l]James, the Lord’s brother. 20 (Now in what I am writing to you, [m]I assure you before God that I am not lying.) 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. 22 I was still unknown by [n]sight to the churches of Judea which are in Christ; 23 but they only kept hearing, “The man who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith which he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they were glorifying God [o]because of me.
Psalm 58
Do you indeed speak righteousness, you silent ones?Do you judge uprightly, you sons of men?2 No, in heart you work wickedness;You weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth.
3 The wicked are estranged from the womb;They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent;They are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear,5 Which will not heed the voice of charmers,Charming ever so skillfully.
6 Break[b] their teeth in their mouth, O God!Break out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!7 Let them flow away as waters which run continually;When he bends his bow,Let his arrows be as if cut in pieces.8 Let them be like a snail which melts away as it goes,Like a stillborn child of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
9 Before your pots can feel the burning thorns,He shall take them away as with a whirlwind,As in His living and burning wrath.10 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance;He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,11 So that men will say,“Surely there is a reward for the righteous;Surely He is God who judges in the earth.”
Proverbs 23:12
12 Apply your heart to instruction, And your ears to words of knowledge.
