Backstory at the very end of the Letter, scroll way down

A writing about what GOD taught me about Jethro. Yitro (Jethro) 5780 Exodus 18:1–20:23; Haftarah Yitro: Yesha‘yahu (Isaiah) 6:1–7:6; 9:5(6)– 6(7) (A); 6:1–13 (S) B’rit Hadashah suggested readings for Parashah Yitro: Mattityahu (Matthew) 5:21–30; 15:1–11; 19:16–30; Mark 7:5–15; 10:17–31; Luke 18:18–30; Acts 6:1–7; Romans 2:17–29; 7:7–12; 13:8–10; Ephesians 6:1–3; 1 Timothy 3:1–14; 2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 1:5–9; Messianic Jews (Hebrews) 12:18–29; Ya‘akov (James) 2:8–13; 1 Kefa (1 Peter) 2:9–10;1 John 5:1–11; Ok it is very good to read the Bible but you may not have all the time to read all this that’s why I’m here to break it down for you. Let’s begin: Jethro? Who the heck is Jethro? What about Jethro? You may be asking, of course you may have not heard of him but everyone knows Moses right? Jethro is the Father in law of Moses. Aha! Ok, so Jethro or Yitro in Hebrew, is father to 7 daughters, including Zipporah (probably the oldest). Zipporah is the wife of Moses. How does a Jethro relate to you: A Jethro is a father, or a father in law, a shepherd or a leader in a house, a masculine figure that basically fathers you, encourages, counsels, builds you up and everything to do with leading you to the right way. We all need Jethros. Who is Your Jethro? He is anyone who is fathering you, leading you, protecting you, guiding you, counseling you or building you up. For sure you have Jethro and I believe on this Shabbat that GOD is telling us to listen to our Jethros, why? Because they are there for that purpose to lead you to the path of success. Jethro was not as famous right? but Moses is very famous because of his success in delivering Israel out of Eygpt, but all his success would not have come if he didn’t listen to Jethro - the father who gave him not just a wife but he gave Moses counsel and wisdom. Recorded in the book of Exodus 18, the story was that Moses already led Israel out of Egypt and there they were in the Wilderness or Dessert. Moses became not just the spiritual leader but the political leader as well, because he had to settle disputes among his own people. It’s like being a President in a country without other governing officials. And When Jethro came to visit Moses, Jethro saw the heavy burdens that Moses was carrying alone. So basically his advice to Moses was - DELEGATE! But there are more lessons we can apply. Exodus 18: 21 But you should choose from among all the people competent men who are God-fearing, honest and incorruptible to be their leaders, in charge of thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 22 Normally, they will settle the people’s disputes. They should bring you the difficult cases; but ordinary matters they should decide themselves. In this way, they will make it easier for you and share the load with you. 23 If you do this — and God is directing you to do it — you will be able to endure; and all these people too will arrive at their destination peacefully.” CJB DELEGATE is an important lesson especially for those who are control freaks at work or in the home or even at church. Okay you may not know it, but when you are always worrying about many things not going your way, you are a control freak because nothing ever goes everything we want. We have to teach people how to do what we are doing, so they can do it even without you. TRUST. It is hard to trust people to do the task but if you never trust them and be patient even if they keep failing at first, then you will never give them the opportunity to be good at it. Trusting GOD is an issue for many of us, yes, but more so with trusting people, it is harder but if you want to see progress, trust the person you want to delegate and don’t do it yourself all the time. To children: LISTEN and DO IT. If your father or mentor is counseling you, it is because they believe you can benefit from it. Don’t reject what they are saying right away, think about it and if you think it is good, then do it. And with that I would like to end this note by honoring all the Jethro's of my life, first to My Daddy - the Greatest earthly Jethro of my life!

Dearest Dad,

Dad you have always been the coolest most amazing person in this world. You may not know how I much I feel about you because I have so much love for you I don’t even know how to express it. But your counsel and wisdom that I listened to have always protected me, guided me and lead me to the best path for my life. The advise that I didn’t listen from you, I totally regret myself not listening to this day. But I love you and I treasure every moment I have with you at the breakfast table.

Even though your mind is always pressured of work at the start of the day, but each day I would hope that today at breakfast we talk about something that touches your heart, like how the people in China suffered the Corona and the old days back when you were younger. I love the way you cry because of the things that move your heart and I always cry with you because I am so connected to you. I love the way you laugh, it brings so much joy to me to see you laughing.

I love the way you tease my Cobe because you love playing with him because he always gets angry right away at the littlest things and how you sing with Cobe with the flute.

I am proud of you, how you established yourself as a business man at such a young age with nothing but faith in GOD, love for your family and hope in your heart.

I amazed at the way you love my Mom the way you are happy when she is happy and take care of her when she is sick. You are the reason why I still believe in true love's kiss!

I applaud how patient you are with all of us your children, forgive us because it's so easy for us to provoke you to anger.

I am amazed at how humble you are - how you remained simple in spite of all the success GOD has given you and I really value that of you and try to imitate that from you.

It's so easy for me to see the love of GOD the FATHER, because of how you loved and fathered me and all the rest of the family!

I love you so much Daddy always and forever.

With all my heart,

Your Firstborn, Achi

Backstory: How I came to write again

Introduction:

Dear Reader,

It’s been a long time that I have written on a Facebook Note - 2017 - 4 years ago to be exact. And it is a bit hard for me to write because of the people that were against what I have written on my old Facebook account that brought some religious leaders to my house just to tell me to shut it down. I did, because GOD taught me always to be submissive and I didn’t open that account anymore. But when GOD tells me to write, I have to write, or else I will explode and posts silly things on Facebook. It’s usually like this, that I can hear rhymes or poems, and just overcome with so much love, as you may have noticed that’s why you’re here reading this Note, right? Hey! I didn’t mean to draw attention, I can’t help it. Sorry about that but GOD is probably drawing you to Himself and you may be wondering what is wrong with Christine? Well, it’s what’s going on with me, GOD is going on with me.

My personal experience with GOD:

So today GOD woke me up 5AM, wow! I said “it’s too early Abba, it’s a Shabbat! What Up?” But I didn’t listen to how GOD woke me up suddenly and stayed in bed (forgive me Father), but I really couldn’t go back to sleep anymore so I arose and went to my WatchTower (Balcony Haven of our Guest House where my Canadian cousins used to stay everytime they are here in the Philippines) to be with my GOD and KING, my everlasting! And there was a tune that I loved singing to Him that just rang from my heart so I started to Worship with a song that He loved hearing me sing that goes like this “All my delight is in You Lord, all of my heart, all of my strength, all my delight is in You Lord forevermore....” (Song title: None But JESUS by Hillsong) and then when HE receives my early morning Sacrifice, I cry, because He is there and His presence is so amazing, and He shows me so many things, but the vision that I love the most is when GOD picks me up like a little child and dances me around and sings to me... Love songs and visions flood over me and I am just overcome with GOD. HE is the most romantic Super Loving Being in the entire Universe - He always satisfies my Heart and Soul.

And so after that intimate time, I came to the breakfast table, because HE always feeds me big time in the morning and today’s menu is a Buffet because it’s a Shabbat/Saturday! Waaaah! there’s so much to read. I use this as my Guide: https://free.messianicbible.com/parasha/parasha-yitro-meeting-with-god-at-the-foot-of-the-mountain-2/ and the CJB translation online: https://www.bible.com/bible/1275/EXO.20.CJB

But for the sake of my Fellowmen or Filipino Audience, I am writing my own Saturday Portion (Shabbat Portion - Shabbat Reading segregated by the chosen people of GOD - the Jews) so that it is relatable to our culture and experience. Here is the reading of this weeks’ Shabbat Portion and it is about Jethro.
