Day 220 Readings
Torah 3rd Portion: Deuteronomy 12:29-13:19
13 (12:32) “Everything I am commanding you, you are to take care to do. Do not add to it or subtract from it.
2 (1) “If a prophet or someone who gets messages while dreaming arises among you and he gives you a sign or wonder, 3 (2) and the sign or wonder comes about as he predicted when he said, ‘Let’s follow other gods, which you have not known; and let us serve them,’ 4 (3) you are not to listen to what that prophet or dreamer says. For Adonai your God is testing you, in order to find out whether you really do love Adonai your God with all your heart and being. 5 (4) You are to follow Adonai your God, fear him, obey his mitzvot, listen to what he says, serve him and cling to him; 6 (5) and that prophet or dreamer is to be put to death;
Bible Study Together:
Numbers 36:1-13
6 Here is what Adonai has ordered concerning the daughters of Tz’lof’chad: ‘Let them be married to whomever they think best, but they must marry only into a family from their father’s tribe. 7 In this way no inheritance of the people of Isra’el will move from one tribe to another; for each of the people of Isra’el is to hold on to the land for inheritance belonging to his father’s tribe.
8 Every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the people of Isra’el is to become the wife of someone from the family of her father’s tribe, so that every one of the people of Isra’el will stay in possession of his ancestors’ inheritance. 9 Thus no inheritance will move from one tribe to another, for each of the tribes of the people of Isra’el will hold on to its own inheritance.”
(Maftir) 10 The daughters of Tz’lof’chad did as Adonai had ordered Moshe. 11 Machlah, Tirtzah, Hoglah, Milkah and No‘ah all got married to sons of their father’s brothers. 12 They were married into the families of the descendants of M’nasheh the son of Yosef, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of their father’s family.
Deuteronomy 1
6 “Adonai spoke to us in Horev. He said, ‘You have lived long enough by this mountain. 7 Turn, get moving and go to the hill-country of the Emori and all the places near there in the ‘Aravah, the hill-country, the Sh’felah, the Negev and by the seashore — the land of the Kena‘ani, and the L’vanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates River. 8 I have set the land before you! Go in, and take possession of the land Adonai swore to give to your ancestors Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya‘akov, and their descendants after them.’
Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile. 17 For in it is revealed how God makes people righteous in his sight; and from beginning to end it is through trust — as the Tanakh puts it, “But the person who is righteous will live his life by trust.”
365 Daily Kingdom Living
From Despair To Dancing
Sometimes our circumstances and the hurts of life can leave us breathlessly grieving or in overwhelming pain. We've hit the wall; there's no way out. Hope vanishes into thin air. It is just at that moment God comes through, and in his mercy and grace turns our tears into laughter and sobs into song. Only God can do that.
Prayer: Thank you heavenly Father, that you know my days of despair - and care. Help me to share the experience of the psalmist and see you turn my tears into joy. I declare my confidence and trust is in you. I may not be able to see the clouds' 'silver lining' today, but I know you can do great things beyond what I can feel today. Help me, dear Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Scripture
Ezra 7
6 this ‘Ezra went up from Bavel. He was a scribe, expert in the Torah of Moshe, which Adonai the God of Isra’el had given; and the king granted him everything he asked for, since the hand of Adonai his God was on him.
10 For ‘Ezra had set his heart on studying and practicing the Torah of Adonai and teaching Isra’el the laws and rulings.
25 “And you, ‘Ezra, making use of the wisdom you have from your God, are to appoint magistrates and judges to judge all the people in the territory beyond the River, that is, all who know the laws of your God; and you are to teach those who don’t know them. 26 Whoever refuses to obey the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed on him swiftly, whether it be death, banishment, confiscation of goods or imprisonment.”
27 Blessed be Adonai, the God of our ancestors, who has put such a thing as this in the heart of the king, to restore the beauty of the house of Adonai in Yerushalayim, 28 and has extended mercy to me before the king and his counselors, and before all the king’s most powerful officials.
So I took courage, since the hand of Adonai my God was on me, and I gathered together out of Isra’el key men to go up with me.
Ezra 8
15 Now I assembled them at the river that runs to Ahava, where we camped for three days; and when I paid close attention to the people and the priests, I did not find any Levites there. 16 So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, [u]leading men, and for Joiarib and Elnathan, teachers.
23 So we fasted and sought our God concerning this matter, and He [ac]listened to our pleading.

My beloved KING, YOU have been telling me since 2016 Dueteronomy 1:6 That I have stayed long enough in the place where YOU planted me, when do YOU want me to go? Just as YOU commanded Israel to go to the hill country so I can take posession of my land already?? The Land which YOU want me to possess? But this is not my point. I received from YOU that I am about to meet a man of the tribe of Yischakar and Leviim, because this is the tribe that I belong to but I will meet him when YOU send me to go. 1 Corinthians 4
5 So don’t pronounce judgment prematurely, before the Lord comes; for he will bring to light what is now hidden in darkness; he will expose the motives of people’s hearts; and then each will receive from God whatever praise he deserves.
10 We are fools on account of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are without honor! 11 Up to this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed and roughly treated and homeless; 12 and we labor, working with our own hands; when we are verbally abused, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; 13 when we are slandered, we [f]reply as friends; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.
Psalms 30:1-12
Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.
A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.
1 I will exalt You, Lord, for You have lifted me up,And have not let my enemies rejoice over me. 2 Lord my God,I cried to You for help, and You healed me. 3 Lord, You have brought up my soul from [a]Sheol; You have kept me alive, [b]that I would not go down to the pit. 4 Sing praise to the Lord, you His godly ones,And praise the mention of His holiness. 5 For His anger is but for a moment,His favor is for a lifetime;Weeping may last for the night,But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,“I will never be moved.” 7 Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, I was dismayed. 8 To You, Lord, I called,And to the Lord I pleaded for compassion: 9 “What gain is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?
10 “Hear, Lord, and be gracious to me;Lord, be my helper.” 11 You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have untied my sackcloth and encircled me with joy, 12 That my [c]soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
Proverbs 20:28-30
28 Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure. 29 The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old. 30 Blows and wounds scrub away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being.
