Day 260 Readings
Torah: Ha'azinu, 1st Portion Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32:1-32:6
Parashah 53: Ha’azinu (Hear) 32:1–52
32 “Hear, oh heavens, as I speak!Listen, earth, to the words from my mouth!2 May my teaching fall like rain.May my speech condense like dew, like light rain on blades of grass,or showers on growing plants.
3 “For I will proclaim the name of Adonai.Come, declare the greatness of our God!4 The Rock! His work is perfect, for all his ways are just.A trustworthy God who does no wrong,he is righteous and straight.
5 “He is not corrupt; the defect is in his children,a crooked and perverted generation.6 You foolish people, so lacking in wisdom,is this how you repay Adonai? He is your father, who made you his!It was he who formed and prepared you!
Bible Study Together:
Joshua 3
5 Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do miracles among you.” 6 And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over ahead of the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went ahead of the people.
7 Now the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, so that they will know that just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you. 8 So you shall command the priests who are carrying the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you come to the edge of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’” 9 Then Joshua said to the sons of Israel, “Come here, and hear the words of the Lord your God.”
Joshua 4
21 And he said to the sons of [n]Israel, “When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, ‘What are these stones?’ 22 then you shall inform your children, saying, ‘Israel crossed this Jordan on dry ground.’ 23 For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed, just as the Lord your God had done to the [o]Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed; 24 so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, so that you may [p]fear the Lord your God [q]forever.”
365 Daily Kingdom Living
Rest Is Part Of God's Plan
King David truly knew God. He knew God gives salvation and God gives true rest. Jesus said, if you are hungry, come to me, if you are thirsty, come to me, if you are sick, come to me, if you are a sinner, come to me, if you are weary, come to me, for I will save you, make you whole and give you rest. Our full complete rest in Christ begins when we fully trust in Him.
Prayer: Father Lord, help us to totally trust in you so that we are totally rested in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Scripture
Isaiah 25
3 Therefore a strong people will glorify You;Cities of ruthless nations will revere You.4 For You have been a stronghold for the helpless,A stronghold for the poor in his distress,A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthlessIs like a rain storm against a wall.5 Like heat in a dry land, You subdue the uproar of foreigners;Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is [a]silenced.
6 Now the Lord of armies will prepare a [b]lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain;A banquet of [c]aged wine, [d]choice pieces with marrow,And [e]refined, aged wine.7 And on this mountain He will destroy the [f]covering which is over all peoples,The veil which is [g]stretched over all nations.8 He will [h]swallow up death for all time,And the Lord [i]God will wipe tears away from all faces,And He will remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken.9 And it will be said on that day,“Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited [j]that He might save us.This is the Lord for whom we have waited;Let’s rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”10 For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain,And Moab will be trampled down in his placeAs straw is trampled down in the water of a manure pile.11 And he will spread out his hands in the middle of itAs a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim,But the Lord will lay low his pride together with the trickery of his hands.12 The unassailable fortifications of your walls He will bring down,Lay low, and throw to the ground, to the dust.
Isaiah 26
7 The way of the righteous is smooth;O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level.8 Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, Lord,We have waited for You eagerly;Your name, and remembering You, is the desire of our souls.9 At night [n]my soul longs for You,Indeed, [o]my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth [p]experiences Your judgments,The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.10 Though the wicked person is shown compassion,He does not learn righteousness; He deals unjustly in the land of uprightness,And does not perceive the majesty of the Lord.
11 Lord, Your hand is lifted up, yet they do not see it.[q]They see Your zeal for the people and are put to shame;Indeed, [r]fire will devour Your enemies.12 Lord, You will establish peace for us,Since You have also performed for us all our works.
16 Lord, they sought You in distress; They [u]could only whisper a prayer, Your discipline was upon them.
17 As the pregnant woman approaches the time to give birth, She writhes and cries out in her labor pains;
This is how we were before You, Lord.
18 We were pregnant, we writhed in labor, We gave birth, as it seems, only to wind.
We could not accomplish deliverance for the earth, Nor were inhabitants of the world [v]born.
19 Your dead will live; [w]Their corpses will rise. You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy,
For your dew is as the dew of the [x]dawn, And the earth will [y]give birth to the [z]departed spirits.
Isaiah 27
1 On that day the Lord will punish [ac]Leviathan the fleeing serpent,With His fierce and great and mighty sword,Even [ad]Leviathan the twisted serpent; And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.
2 On that day,“A [ae]vineyard of beauty, sing of it!3 I, the Lord, am its keeper;I water it every moment. So that no one will [af]damage it,I guard it night and day.
12 On that day the Lord will thresh from the flowing stream of the Euphrates River to the brook of Egypt, and you will be gathered up one by one, you sons of Israel. 13 It will come about also on that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 28
5 In that day the Lord of hosts will be For a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty
To the remnant of His people,
6 For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, And for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
12 To whom He said, “This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest,”
And, “This is the refreshing”; Yet they would not hear.
13 But the word of the Lord was to them, “Precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little,”
A Cornerstone in Zion
16 Therefore thus says the Lord God:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation,A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;Whoever believes will not act hastily.
Listen to the Teaching of God
23 Give ear and hear my voice,Listen and hear my speech.24 Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow?Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods?25 When he has leveled its surface,Does he not sow the black cumminAnd scatter the cummin,Plant the wheat in rows,The barley in the appointed place,And the [y]spelt in its place?26 For He instructs him in right judgment,His God teaches him.
29 This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in [z]guidance.
Galatians 3:15-29
22 But the Scripture has confined [l]everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 But before faith came, [m]we were kept in custody under the Law, being confined for the faith that was destined to be revealed. 24 Therefore the Law has become our [n]guardian to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a [o]guardian. 26 For you are all sons and daughters of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is [p]neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you [q]belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s [r]descendants, heirs according to promise.
Psalm 61
Assurance of God’s Eternal Protection
To the Chief Musician. On [a]a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David.
1 Hear my cry, O God;Attend to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You,When my heart is overwhelmed;Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For You have been a shelter for me,A strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Your [b]tabernacle forever;I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah
5 For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.
6 You will prolong the king’s life,His years as many generations.
7 He shall abide before God forever.Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may [c]preserve him!
8 So I will sing praise to Your name forever,That I may daily perform my vows.
Proverbs 23:17-18
New American Standard Bible
17 Do not let your heart envy sinners,But live in [a]the fear of the Lord [b]always.18 Certainly there is a [c]future,And your hope will not be cut off.
