Day 237 Readings
Torah: Ki Teitzei, 6th Portion Devarim (Deuteronomy) 24:5-24:13
(vi) 5 “If a man has recently married his wife, he is not to be subject to military service; he is to be free of external obligations and left at home for one year to make his new wife happy.
10 “When you make any kind of loan to your neighbor, you are not to enter his house to take his collateral. 11 You must stand outside, and the borrower will bring the collateral outside to you. 12 If he is poor, you are not to go to bed with what he gave as collateral in your possession; 13 rather, you must restore the pledged item at sunset; then he will go to sleep wearing his garment and bless you. This will be an upright deed of yours before Adonai your God.

Psalm 131
Childlike Trust in the Lord.
A Song of Ascents, of David.
1 Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes arrogant; Nor do I [a]involve myself in great matters, Or in things too [b]difficult for me.
2 I have certainly soothed and quieted my soul;Like a weaned child resting [c]against his mother,My soul [d]within me is like a weaned child.
3 Israel, wait for the Lord From this time on and forever.
Deuteronomy 7
5 But this is what you shall do to them: you shall tear down their altars, smash their memorial stones, cut their [j]Asherim to pieces, and burn their carved images in the fire. 6 For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His personal possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the [k]earth.
7 “The Lord did not [l]make you His beloved nor choose you because you were greater in number than any of the peoples, since you were the fewest of all peoples, 8 but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of [m]slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps [n]His covenant and [o]His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments; 10 but He repays those who hate Him to [p]their faces, to eliminate [q]them; He will not hesitate toward him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face. 11 Therefore, you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I am commanding you today, to do them.
17 “If you say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I; how can I dispossess them?’ 18 you are not to be afraid of them; you shall remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt: 19 the great trials which your eyes saw and the signs and the wonders, and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm by which the Lord your God brought you out. The Lord your God will do the same to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. 20 Indeed, the Lord your God will send the hornet against them, until those who are left and hide themselves from you perish. 21 You are not to be terrified of them, because the Lord your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God. 22 And the Lord your God will drive away these nations from you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, otherwise the [u]wild animals would become too numerous for you. 23 But the Lord your God will turn them over to you, and will [v]throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed. 24 And He will hand over their kings to you, so that you will eliminate their name from under heaven; no one will be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them.
Romans 9
12 it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger.” 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? [l]Far from it! 15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I show compassion.” 16 So then, it does not depend on the person who [m]wants it nor the one who [n]runs, but on God who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed [o]throughout the earth.” 18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.
19 You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” 20 On the contrary, who are you, [p]you foolish person, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? 21 Or does the potter not have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one object [q]for honorable use, and another [r]for common use? 22 [s]What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with great patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction? 23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon objects of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, 24 namely us, whom He also called, not only from among Jews, but also from among Gentiles, 25 as He also says in Hosea:
“I will call those who were not My people, ‘My people,’And her who was not beloved, ‘beloved.’”26 “And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘you are not My people,’There they shall be called sons of the living God.”
365 Daily Kingdom Living:
My Redeemer
We all need a redeemer who can protect, defend and rescue us at times in our life. Good news – No sin is unforgettable and unpardonable in Christ, our redeemer. All damnation and the snares of sin are taken away because He paid for our sin with His blood.
Prayer: Lord, You call me by my name and I am Yours. Thank you that on the cross You have redeemed me and freed me from my sin and shame so that I can stand tall in You. I thank you for my new life and my new hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Job Says He Has Become a Proverb
1 “My spirit is broken, my days are extinguished,The [a]grave is ready for me.
9 Nevertheless the righteous will hold to his way, And the one who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.
Job 18
Job 19
1 Corinthians 16
10 Now if Timothy comes, see that he [d]has no reason to be afraid while among you, for he is doing the Lord’s work, as I also am. 11 So do not look down on him, anyone. But send him on his way in peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brothers.
12 Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly encouraged him to come to you with the brothers; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has the opportunity.
13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 All that you do must be done in love.
21 The greeting is in my own hand—that of Paul. 22 If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be [j]accursed. [k]Maranatha! 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. 24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Psalms 40:1-10
New American Standard Bible
God Sustains His Servant.
For the music director. A Psalm of David.
1 I waited [a]patiently for the Lord; And He reached down to me and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up out of the pit of [b]destruction, out of the mud;And He set my feet on a rock, making my footsteps firm.3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;Many will see and fearAnd will trust in the Lord.
4 How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust,And has not turned to the [c]proud, nor to those who become involved in falsehood.5 Many, Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done,And Your thoughts toward us;There is no one to compare with You.If I would declare and speak of them,They would be too numerous to count.
6 You have not desired [d]sacrifice and meal offering; You have [e]opened my ears; You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.7 Then I said, “Behold, I have come;It is [f]written of me in the scroll of the book.8 I delight to do Your will, my God;Your Law is within my [g]heart.”
9 I have proclaimed good news of righteousness in the great congregation;Behold, I will not restrain my lips,Lord, You know.10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation;I have not concealed Your mercy and Your truth from the great congregation.
